The Ocean Waves Quilt Society was formed on April 1, 2000 and was incorporated under the Societies Act of Nova Scotia on April 16, 2001.
Its purpose is:
The Board of Directors is composed of not less than 5, nor more than 15 volunteer members. Elected by the Board, the executive is made up of Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer/Membership Coordinator, Program and Special Events Coordinator and Communications Officer.
The Society’s annual meeting has a full day of quilting activities held during the month of April, at a location offered by a quilting group hosting the event. Other Board meetings are open to the membership when there is an activity planned that is of interest to quilters.
Membership is open to anyone who supports the work of the Society. Membership to the Society can be had by submitting your name, address, phone, and Email, along with $10, to the Treasurer/Membership Coordinator. Or bring your membership fee to any meeting.
Before each meeting, the Society publishes a Newsletter which is distributed to every member. The Newsletter reports on the previous meeting, events taking place, special reports, features and whatever members wish to share (subject to available space and editing, of course).

- · to establish quilting as part of the economic development of the Island
- · to network with other quilting groups
